Giving Thanks: Thanksgiving made simple

One of the advantages of living in a city means you have options for Holiday cooking and entertaining, and thankfully Miami is no exception. 

With Thanksgiving less than two weeks away, you can skip the lines at Whole Foods and Publix with some options for either going out for the  “Big Bird” , or pre-ordering the Turkey and all its fixins for the crowd coming to your house. 

Thanksgiving “To Go”:

Tongue & Cheek- 431 Washington Ave. Miami Beach , FL  305 704 2900 - Two options of “Turkey to Go” includes Roasted all-natural Turkey with Sausage Stuffing, arugula salad, sweet potato and pecan casserole, other fixins and pecan, apple or  pumpkin pie.

10-12 lb turkey and fixins feeds 6-8  dinner - $175

20-22 lb turkey and fixins feeds  10-12 - $225

Side dishes “to go” are also available for separate purchase.

Thanksgiving orders must be placed by Sunday, November 23, for pick-up Wednesday, November 26 between 10am- 7pm.

MC Kitchen- 4141 NE 2nd Ave. Miami, FL- 305 456 9948-  Chef Dena Marino has created a "To Go" dinner for 6-8 priced at $425 and includes traditional turkey and all the fixins, with her modern Italian twist. The menu feeds six to eight people and costs $425 (plus tax). It will include a Heritage Breed Turkey (stuffed with parma prosciutto and roasted garlic) and will be accompanied with five fixin’s and a sweet treat. Patrons can call the restaurant or email us at info@mckitchenmiami.com to place their order for pickup. Thanksgiving orders for pickup must be placed by Sunday November 23rd for pickup on Wednesday November 26th.

Toscano Divino- 900 South Miami Drive ( Mary Brickell Village) , Miami, FL  305 371 3767Toscana Divino actually has two great options for this year's Thanksgiving Day feast. If you want to dine in, the restaurant will be serving a classic Thanksgiving day meal with an Italian twist all day from noon to 11 p.m. The 3-course, $55 meal includes an Italian antipasti followed by a traditional roast turkey with sage apple stuffing and sides like pumpkin gnocchi.

BUT, if you want to dine at home but don’t want to cook, Toscana Divino will do the cooking for you. Order one of its To Go Thanksgiving Dinners including Traditional Roast Turkey, Sage Apple Stuffing, Gravy and Cranberry Sauce, Potato Puree, Brussels Sprouts, Pumpkin Gnocchi and Pumpkin Pie. Dinners feed 6-8 people and are $230 plus tax. Orders must be placed by Thursday, November 20 for Thanksgiving Day pick up.

Thanksgiving Dinner Out:

Meat Market -  915 Lincoln Road Miami Beach. (305) 532-0088. Meat Market will offer several à la carte Thanksgiving dinner specials on Thursday, November 27. Acclaimed chef Sean Brasel’s menu will feature holiday-inspired favorites; a Bell and Evans fresh turkey leg roulade stuffed with black rye, walnut, chorizo, fennel with fresh cranberry gastric, cranberry and peach chutney, duck fat fried doughnut and crispy kale ,a wood-grilled Bell and Evans bourbon and vanilla marinated sous vide turkey breast with sweet potato aji Amarillo puree, braised kale and sweet tomato marmalade and a Mixed Grill of 3, which will allow diners to sample the turkey leg and sous vide breast, along with Australian lamb loins crusted with apricot mustard, brioche mint crumbs, toasted wild grain, kale salad and Laura Chenel goat cheese. A seasonal Jack Daniels caramel pecan tartlet with candied pumpkin ice cream and vanilla crema will be available for dessert.

Seagrape, opening on Friday, November 21, at the brand new Thompson Miami Beach. 4041 Collins Ave. Miami Beach  (305) 397-8309. The restaurant will be offering a special pre-fixe menu for $65 per person. The feast begins with a salad of baby Swank greens, shaved persimmon, candied pecans and pecorino ribbons, dressed with a cider vinaigrette. Served family-style, guests can enjoy turkey with all the trimmings, potato purée, haricot vert, clementine cranberry sauce, brioche stuffing and pan gravy. For dessert indulge in pumpkin pie panna cotta with roasted butternut squash, torched marshmallows, cranberry-grape jam, graham streusel and creme fraiche Chantilly. BONUS- $5- valet parking with validated ticket. 

Il Mulino New York South Beach - 840 1st Street, Miami Beach, FL - Il Mulino will host Thanksgiving dinner this year at the celebrated Italian eatery. The prix fixe menu, which costs $50 per person, begins with a light appetizer of Fresh Mozzarella with grilled vegetables. For an entrée, guests can enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal of Roast Turkey with natural juices, Chestnut Stuffing with sausage and Green Beans Marinara crafted in Il Mulino's signature elegant style. The dinner rounds out with a savory dessert of Pumpkin Cheesecake accompanied by American coffee and tea.

The Dutch-  W South Beach Hotel & Residences, 2201 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach , FL 305 938 3111The Dutch Will offer a home style Thanksgiving prix-fixe dinner on Thursday, November 27, from noon – 9 p.m., with a specialty menu created by Chef de Cuisine Conor Hanlon.  Priced at $55 per person and served individually or family style. The meal will feature roasted turducken, confit turkey leg stuffing, spiced butternut squash, cranberry-walnut chutney and classic gravy, pumpkin pie with cinnamon cream and cranberry sorbet; or warm apple crumb pie with caramel sauce and rum raisin ice cream.

Quattro Gastronomia Italiana- 1014 Lincoln Road , Miami Beach, FL  305 531 4833-  Quattro will offer a three-course Thanksgiving prix-fixe menu for lunch and dinner on Thursday, November 27. Priced at $65 per person, the meal will begin with a choice of antipasti; crispy pancetta salad or fontina fondue with quail egg and Altamura bread crostini. For the main course, guests can choose between braised turkey breast stuffed with focaccia, Italian sausage and pistachio and served with sage mashed potatoes, multicolor cauliflower gratin and homemade gravy; or T-bone of lamb with pumpkin mashed potatoes and Beech mushroom demiglaze. Guests can end the meal with pumpkin tart, topped with dry fruit marmalade and nougat gelato.

Db Bistro Moderne 255 Biscayne Boulevard Way  Miami, FL 33131  305 421 8800On Thursday, November 27th, from noon to 8 pm, db Bistro Moderne invites families and friends to enjoy a three-course, prix fixe Thanksgiving dinner prepared by Chef Jason Pringle. The menu is filled with seasonal dishes including Traditional Roast Turkey, cornbread stuffing, citrus cranberry marmalade and all the trimmings. And since who doesn’t like leftovers, db Bistro Moderne will be sending each guest home with a complimentary Turkey Sandwich to go, to enjoy the following day.  Adults; $60, Kids 12 and under- $35.

Executive Chef Jonathan Lane has created a 3-course Thanksgiving Day menu for Thursday, November 27th between the hours of 11:30am and 4:00pm,  with traditional dishes like Autumn Squash Soup, Slow Roasted Free Range Turkey, Root Vegetables, Walnut & Sage Stuffing, Whipped Yukon Gold Potato and Giblet Gravy or alternatives such as Horseradish Crusted Faroe Island Salmon, Braised Lentils, Smoked Bacon Mustard-Chive Sauce  or All Natural USDA Prime Beef Tenderloin, Yukon Potato Rosti, Porcini Mushroom, Truffle-Madeira Sauce priced at $75 per person .

The restaurants at The Fontainebleau;  Scarpetta, Michael Mina, and the newly opened Strip Steak,  all have special prix-fixe or a la carte Thanksgiving feasts. 

Stepping a bit out of the traditional Turkey Day fare are other local favorites open on Thanksgiving Day:

Bocce Bar: Braciola di Maiale with wood-oven roasted pork chop, spaetzle, carrots, cabbage, and smoky bacon

L’Echon Brasserie: Cochon au Lait with clove honey and mustard-pork jus

SUSHISAMBA: Mojo Roasted Organic Turkey with linguica quinoa stuffing, crispy Brussels sprouts.

SUGARCANE Raw Bar Grill: Oven Roasted & Fried Turkey Chorizo Bread Pudding with mojo cranberry pan dripping

The Restaurant at The Setai: Pumpkin Veloute with roasted pumpkin with pumpkin seeds, shaved parmesan and truffle oil.
