Celebrate Mexican Independence All Week Long

mexican independence day

Mexicans celebrate their country’s Independence Day with fireworks, fiestas, food, dance and music - and for sure lots of tequila on September 16. Whistles and horns are blown and confetti is thrown to celebrate this festive occasion. "Viva Mexico" or "Viva la independencia” are shouted amidst the crowds on this day. Some of our favorite Mexican spots are on board to celebrate all day and night this weekend and beyond. So if you’re looking to get out of the house (as many of us still don’t have power - damn you #Irma) we’ve got the plans you’re looking for!

Cantina La Veinte

cantina la veinte

This Friday, September 15, Cantina La Veinte will host an all-day Mexican Independence Day celebration. Sponsored by Maestro Dobel tequila, Cantina will be an oasis for all partygoers with a DJ, mariachi and specially-priced tequila flight known as a Bandera – Maestro Dobel blanco, sangrita (a non-alcoholic accompaniment that highlights tequila's crisp acidity and cleanses the palate between each peppery sip) and lime juice. Guests are encouraged to join in the celebration as Cantina honors everything we love about our neighbor's to the south - that includes TEQUILA!

El Grito Miami
