Off The Menu with Chef Michael Shikany

 

Open just since April,  Michael Shikany's newest masterpiece occupies 4000 square feet in a once abandoned warehouse in Wynwood.  SHIKANY  tactfully camouflages with its artistic neighbors featuring abstract colors, unique flavors and creative textures.  The space, designed by prestigious architectural and design firm, Modis/R-Globe created different dining vignettes, a main lounge, bar and cocktail garden. 

Following the launch of SHIKANY, Chef Michael Shikany , whose culinary pedigree includes such New York institutions as Babbo, TAO, Le Bernardin and Gramercy Tavern, will unveil a 10-course degustation menu taking guests on a culinary journey of off-the-menu dishes beginning on Friday nights starting with the inaugural seating on Friday, July 11. 

Every Friday, guests will be seated at the 24-seat communal table in the main dining room and will experience specially executed dishes like Charred Presebas with Kaffir Ginger Leek Confit, Pear Pate de Fruit, Blueberry Sake Syrup, Rose Beurre Blanc and Brown Butter Powder; Toro Tartare with Pickled Ramps, Strawberry Preserve Gelee, Sake Kaffir Gel, Yuzu Glass, Mimo Chive; and a Caramelized Foie Gras with Black Sesame Sponge, Cherry Tomato Gelee. Menu is vegetarian friendly, but not gluten-free.

One nightly seating will be available on Fridays at 7:30 PM with a set price menu of $125 and $180 with pairings. 

Guests are requested to RSVP ahead of time and provide a credit card deposit upon reserving their seat.
