COYO Taco opens in Brickell!

Miami Coyo Taco Cinco de Mayo festival

In case you missed the epic COYO Taco Cinco de Mayo Block Party last week...do not despair. The party goes on as COYO Taco just opened their second location in the heart of Brickell. Offering their fast, casual Mexican fare , COYO Brickell is located at 1111 SW First Ave., next to Marion. Looking more like a “real” restaurant,  COYO Brickell has  seating for 74 people inside, with an additional 74 outdoor seats.

COYO Taco opened in January 2015, when partners Alan Drummond, who heralds from the art district Coyoacan in Mexico City and music aficionado, Sven Vogtland, joined forces with seasoned chef/partner Scott Linquist, to create a restaurant concept that rocks Wynwood every day with lines out the door.

COYO’s flagship restaurant-venue is located in the heart of Miami's Wynwood Arts District, and is open for lunch, dinner, and late night service. The chic, yet simple space features indoor/outdoor dining with communal seating, and a speakeasy lounge complete with a collection of Mezcals and a weekly rotation of cutting-edge music programming, all complemented by a state of the art sound system. Next door to Panther Coffee, it has become one of the key anchors in the Wynwood Art District.

At COYO, guacamole is smashed to order and tortillas are handcrafted in Mexican tradition. Favorite menu items include in addition to the hand pressed corn tortilla tacos, signature items such as the popular carnitas de pato, al pastor, and quinoa tacos for vegetarians.  Burritos, Bowls and sides like grilled corn, make this not just a taco joint.

Staying true to its Todo Fresco or ‘Everything Fresh’ philosophy, produce is locally sourced, meat and seafood are naturally raised, and signature margaritas are made from scratch. COYO Taco is located at 2320 NW 2nd Ave, with a Brickell location slated to open later this Spring/Summer. The trendy Mexican taqueria will be located on the ground floor of residential building, Axis Brickell at 1111 SW 1st Ave, and will offer some additional menu items from The Shore Club pop-up including Lobster Tacos and Crispy Octopus with aji amarillo.

The Wynwood Cinco de Mayo block party was a quite the fiesta with live mariachi bands, the best DJs, and real Mexican-style luchador matches. Enjoy tacos al pastor, corn on the cob, margaritas, and beer specials, along with nonstop entertainment. Save the date for NEXT years party!
