Hank and Harry’s Deli is coming to South Miami. A traditional deli is something that’s missing in South Miami, but as of early fall of 2017 that problem will be remedied. In the last year Hank and Harry’s Deli has become the go to breakfast and lunch spot on Lincoln Road.
The South Miami location, to be located at 5958 South Dixie Highway, will have all the same deli charm while featuring an expanded menu as well as full sit down restaurant service. “We are so proud to be opening such a wonderful establishment in the neighborhood that I have lived in for over 50 years. We feel Hank and Harry’s Deli will become an instant classic in the area,” says co-owner Richard Booth.
The new space will be significantly larger with seating for up to 125 people. The menu will feature Jewish deli classics including “Mile-High” Corned Beef and Pastrami sandwiches, bagels, bialys and ‘schmears’, knishes, matzoh ball soup and Black & White cookies.
But what I’m most excited for is the gourmet French fry menu featuring Loaded Baked Potato Fries, Jersey style Disco Fries with cheese and gravy, jalapeno cheese, and shaved pastrami and cheese fries. Give me all the French fries!
If you’re more the healthy type, Hank and Harry’s will be putting a new twist on the made-to-order salads with an option to turn them into a wrap. Think: The Chef Salad Wrap. If you’re the type who thinks deli and immediately wants an open-faced brisket or meatloaf sandwich - Hank and Harry’s is ready to make that dream come true. The breakfast menu includes an array of egg sandwiches, something everyone can agree is sorely lacking in Miami. I know I’m not the only one that wakes up craving a perfect egg sandwich.
Each item on the menu is fresh and made-to-order and all salads made in-house including chicken, smoked whitefish & tuna, as well as deli meats are available to purchase by the pound at the grab-n-go counter. Homemade soups will be featured daily as well as a wide variety of deli burgers, cheesesteaks and authentic NY hotdogs. The beverage menu will feature Panther Coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, lemonade as well as deli staples such as Dr. Brown’s sodas.
I keep driving by the construction anxiously awaiting the arrival of Hank and Harry’s right down the street from home. In the meantime, I’ll happily settle with the Lincoln Road location. Protip: order the tuna - BEST tuna salad in town.
