National Burger Month: It’s all in the family at Pincho Factory

Pincho Factory, the local family-owned fast casual concept behind the SOBEWFF award-winning Croquetessa and Tostón burgers, is today’s MIAbites featured Mecca for National Burger Month. 2016 marks the return of the highly anticipated fan favorite, the Quesadilla Burger, a custom blend of chuck brisket and short rib patty with queso fresco, guacamole, and Pico de Gallo in between two quesadillas. The brand’s four South Florida locations will serve up their signature menu items featuring unique burgers including the Pincho Burger, Tostón Burger, and the “secret” Foreman, a burger between two grilled cheese sandwiches.

Founded by cousins Nedal Ahmad, Otto Othman and Nizar Ahmad, Pincho Factory, Inc.has gone from an in-the-know locals’ secret to a well- known Miami concept, gracing many national foodie “must try” lists. Serving elevated street food in vibrant, casual spaces,

Pincho Factory is both something uniquely Miami and, like the city of its birth, very international.

The idea for Pincho Factory was sparked at a family barbecue. The cousins, both from entrepreneurial families and, looking to make changes in their careers, decided that simple burgers, kebabs and other elements would make the perfect springboard for a successful fast casual chain.

The dream was hatched: to open their own restaurant.

Four months later, after many nights of menu tastings and recipe experimenting, they pooled their entire collected savings into developing the first Pincho Factory outpost.  With only $6.27 left in the bank, Nedal and his partners opened the flagship location in Miami’s Westchester neighborhood on November 10, 2010. Since its opening, Pincho Factory’s menu has graduated to more than creative burgers and kebabs.  Menu highlights include Hot Dogs and Chicken Sandwiches and a popular “Chalkboard Special” serving a creative specialty item, which changes monthly.  In fact, some of the concept’s most popular items first began as chalkboard specials and are now infamous.

Such as the Toston burger, the classic Pincho Factory burger between two fried plantain “buns.”  Miami’s answer to the Ramen Burger!

In October 2013, the trio opened a second Pincho Factory location in Coral Gables, which the community immediately embraced and turned it into a hotspot, serving great food in a lively, convivial environment.

Lee Schrager, the Founder of the Food Network & Cooking Channel South Beach Wine & Food Festival invited Pincho Factory to participate in the 2015 Amstel Light Burger Bash, where Nedal’s Croquetesa burger won the highly-coveted Amstel Light People’s Choice Award.

The Pincho Factory team is now in major expansion mode. The goal is for 20 franchised concept stores to be signed and in development by the end of 2016; 50 by the end of 2017.
