Saturday Sweets: Verde at the PAMM

If you have not yet been to the Perez Art Museum Miami  located in Downtown Miami, then I think you need to plan a daytrip there starting with brunch (and of course dessert). The PAMM is a modern and contemporary art museum that was opened in 2013.  Inside the museum right along the water is an adorable restaurant called Verde.  Chef Kaytlin Brakefield is dishing out some amazing desserts that pair perfectly with the newly added mocktails being offered by the restaurant.

Greek Yogurt Panna CottaGreek yogurt, heavy cream, and a tart delicious mango sauce finished with micro cilantro adding an extra unexpected hint of freshness.  This is one is the chef’s favorite – she claims it’s due to her Italian heritage, but I think it’s because it’s out of this world DELICIOUS.

Chocolate Bread Pudding baguette bread, 70% chocolate, orange anglaise, and vanilla ice cream.  Made to make every chocolate lover drop to their knees!  This bread pudding has great texture and is very well complimented with the addition of orange anglaise.

Key Lime Pie in a Jarkey lime curd, graham crumble, and fresh whipped cream.  As classic as it gets in South Florida, this is key lime pie perfection.  Tart and sweet just as it should be and served in a cute jar.

Brown Butter Sugar Donuts covered in brown butter sugar with guava sauce and dulce de leche for dipping.  Let’s just say, three donuts per order is not enough. If you are ordering them for a table I suggest ordering one set per person – you’ll thank me later.

In addition to these yummy desserts you can also tame your sweet tooth with one of the three sweet mocktails recently added to their menu.  These fun mocktails are just like the fancy cocktails we all love, but without the alcohol.  They are perfect for moms-to-be, those under 21, or even those of us who have had a little too much the night before. The Sugar Free Lavender Fizz is served in a wine glass and garnished with a strawberry.  It is just the right amount of sweet and bubbly – I think this one is my favorite. The Grapefruit Ginger is refreshing, it made me feel like I was relaxing on a beach (although the waterfront restaurant helps with that too).  The Coconut Water Arnold Palmer with Starfruit is easily the prettiest of the three – I am a sucker for the starfruit floating ever so gently at the bottom of the glass.

Verde at the PAMM is open Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Sunday from 11am – 5pm, closed on Wednesday and open late on Thursday from 11am – 9pm.  Be sure to check them out and let me know what you think.  You can always find me on twitter: @amberlove_bakes, I’d love to hear from you!
