Right on Target Cooking Classes at Wynwood Yard With Soraya Kilgore and Pablo Zitzmann

We did the first Right on Target Class at The Wynwood Yard with Giorgio Rapicavoli and loved it. Two more of our favorites can be found teaching classes of their own and they're ones you're not going to want to miss!

The next two Right on Target cooking classes will pique home cooks’ culinary curiosity with exciting and fresh new dishes to add to their recipe box from local chef stars, Soraya Kilgore of MadLab Creamery and Pablo Zitzmann of No Name Chinese restaurant on May 2nd.

MadLab Creamery’s Soraya Caraccioli-Kilgore is becoming Miami’s sweetest pastry chef bringing her soft serve ice cream, Japanese cheesecake and chocolate to 305’ers eager to satisfy their sweet tooth in style. Join Soraya on April 4th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for a fun, informative and hands-on cooking class at The Wynwood Yard series, Right on Target Cooking Classes, and learn tips and tricks on how to transform simple yet quality ingredients into edible art. Among the new skills you’ll pick up is how to make Japanese cheesecake, the fluffiest of its kind, garnished with toppings like whipped cream, edible glitter, fancy sprinkles, and sauces! Snag your tickets here!

Then, on May 2nd, Chef Pablo Zitzmann, Executive Chef of South Miami’s brilliant No Name Chinese restaurant serving contemporary Chinese cuisine, dim sum and “weird” wines, teaches you how to make the most succulent dumplings in a hands-on class. Stay tuned for Chef Zitzmann’s cooking class menu, but expect loads of flavor and spice from this Colombian-born chef who honed his cooking skills under established Miami chefs including Michelle Bernstein, NOBU’s Thomas Buckley, and Jean-Georges Vongerichten.

Chef Zitzmann will teaching guests how to prepare the following:

  • Smashed Cucumber Salad-Creamy Spicy Sesame Dressing, Herbs.
  • Mr Lee’s Jiaozi-Red Ossabaw Pork Shoulder, Napa Cabbage, Chives, Black rice Vinegar
  • Siu Mai: Lemongrass and Shrimp Dumplings, Smoked Trout Roe
  • Walnut Tarts: Macanese Style Walnut Egg Tart

All the fun and deliciousness has a purpose, too! Partially funded by Target Foundation, the proceeds of the cooking series benefit Miami-based Wellness in Schools programs committed to ending childhood obesity through nutrition and fitness education. As if that weren't enough, four tickets from each class are donated to deserving members of the community, including first responders and teachers.
