Weekly Nibble: Celebrate Cinco de Mayo everyday in Miami

Cinco de Mayo may have come and gone this year, but Miami diners can still enjoy authentic Mexican food at these fun spots.  Don't limit your taco and tequila intake only on Cinco de Mayo, celebrate this “not a real holiday” on any day, year round.

Tacology

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Tacology, located on the fourth floor of Brickell City Centre. This Mercado-style Mexican restaurant goes all out for the holiday.

Specials include:

  • Early happy hour from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. with FREE beer, classic margaritas, and Mezcal Tequila shots
  • $5 Dos Equis all day
  • Full bar inside, Mezcal and Tequila bar outside (3 bars total)
  • Mariachis
  • DJ starting at 8:30 p.m.

Chuy’s

One of the most beloved Tex-Mex restaurant concepts, Chuy’s, will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo all week long. Monday, April 30 through Friday, May 4 Chuy’s will be offering a “Free Deluxe” queso upgrade with any bulk package order of 10 or more people. On Friday, May 4 guests can enjoy Chuy’s signature Happy Hour offerings with $1 off Coronas and Floaters starting at 4PM. The fiesta continues on Saturday, May 5 where Cinco de Mayo goers can enjoy Happy Hour drink specials all-day. Cure your hangover on Sunday, May 6 with $5 Tito’s Bloody Mary’s and some authentic Tex-Mex cuisine. Chuy’s has earned a reputation across Texas and throughout the Southeast for being the most fun and friendly spot to enjoy real Tex-Mex food at a great price.

Biscayne Brewing Co

This Saturday, May 5th at 5pm the first annual taco eating contest will take place. Competitors will go head to head to down as many tacos as they can in 15 minutes. The 1st prize winner will win a $100 gift card. The 2nd prize winner will receive a 64oz growler and the 3rd prize winner will get a special release bottle of their choice.

Bodega South Beach

The Miami Beach’s ultimate Cinco destination. From 3-9pm on Saturday, May 5th, Bodega will be hosting a Block Party—a rare occurrence on Miami Beach! From Alton Road to Alton Court, partiers will enjoy a family friendly fiesta, complete with live music, mariachi bands, face painting and a photobooth. Foodies will enjoy the local offerings from food truck favorites Ms. Cheezious, Mr. Goodstuff, Opita Greek and Dolci Peccati, as well as craft beers from J Wakefield Brewing, MIA Brewing, Stone Brewing and Civil Society Brewing. 222 Taco

222 Taco celebrates its first-ever Cinco de Mayo, with an all-day fiesta in North Bay Village. The buzzy Mexican eatery will offer a variety of authentic food and drink specials, along with live music by local DJs Corey Chase and DJ Sire.

Food specials priced at $2.22 will include tacos al pastor (cauliflower and pork), mini guac & chips, and assorted paletas (Mexican popsicles). Carne Asada fries and ‘Nacho Friends’ will also be offered in mini sizes for $5. For drinks, guests can choose from $5 drink specials including margaritas (frozen & classic), mamaritas, Mexican beer, and micheladas.
