National Oyster Day: Get Shuckin in Miami

THIS CALLS FOR A SHUCKIN’ CELEBRATION!

August 5 is National Oyster Day and South Florida restaurants are embracing this glorious holiday by offering specials to allow guests to indulge in these tasty sea treats.

Whether you like them raw with mignonette or cocktail sauce, baked Rockefeller style or paired with champagne, beer or rosé, MIAbites has all the details on where to get your fill of these briny bi-valves at these South Florida hot spots:

Miami Beach

RWSB (2201 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139 – located inside the W Hotel)

Executive Chef Josh Gripper is celebrating Oyster Day at his South Beach hotspot with two dinner specials from 6:30PM-11PM. Diners can dive into Oysters Rockefeller for $18 (half-dozen) or a Buffalo Oyster Sandy ($5 each) with Nashville hot sauce, celery dressing, on a sesame seed bun.

Market at EDITION( 2901 Collins Ave. Miami Beach, FL 33140)

Enjoy a nightly Oysters & Rose celebration with a daily selection of $2 oysters and select $10 bites (think crispy calamari with citrus chili sauce). Pair these bites with $10 glasses of rosé or seasonal cocktails including a summer Aperol spritz or Market Punch as well as other select wines by the glass and beers for just $5-10 each.

Lure Fishbar ( In the historic St. Moritz building at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel 1600 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, FL 33139)

In celebration of National Oyster Day, guests can enjoy a flight of specialty oysters and a flute of Palmer & Co. Champagne for just $20. The flight includes oysters in three different preparations: Raw Kushi, Wasabi & Lemon-dressed Blue Point and a Fried Oyster with Salsa Cruda and Caviar. Key Biscayne

This former 1930s gas station turned oyster bar/seafood haven by Chef Danny Serfer will offer $2 oysters served with house cocktail sauce or their mignonette sauce -- perfect to wash down with a bottle of your favorite white, rosé or sparkling wine.

Edge Steak and Bar ( Four Seasons Hotel 1435 Brickell Ave Miami, FL.)

It doesn’t need to be Oyster Day for $1- oysters at Edge during Happy Hour from 4-7 pm. Enjoy freshly shucked tasty oysters in the bar area or outside on the terrace every day of the week.

Fort Lauderdale
