Made In America: Celebrate National Bourbon Month

September is National Bourbon Heritage Month. While bourbon may be made anywhere in the United States, it is strongly associated with the American South, and with Kentucky in particular. But Miami is no stranger to bourbon and it’s creative cocktails.  Here are just some of the local spots for these creative libations.

The Fontainebleau’s StripSteak by Michael Mina is offering an eye-catching, dramatic, tableside Bourbon Whiskey Ceremony.   Beverage director Syed Ali has crafted an educational and entertaining experience that will be available to guests every day during Bourbon Heritage month. Priced at $35, the StripSteak Bourbon Whiskey Ceremony features Angel’s Envy bourbon; one of the country’s highest rated small batch bourbons. After presenting the bottle, guests will be treated to a quick general lesson on bourbon, Angel’s Envy bourbon and what ingredients will be paired with it during the ceremony. The process begins when the glass is smoked with cloves; while a peach – that has been compressed with bliss maple syrup and cloves for 24 hours – is torched. The glass is then assembled with the bourbon and peach and garnished with tangerine lace. All of the components in the ceremony are used to accentuate the flavor of the bourbon.
