Estrella Damm Culinary Journey In Miami May 1-31

The 2022 Estrella Damm Culinary Journey runs from May 1- May 31st, with more than 40 restaurants throughout Miami-Dade and Broward participating in this initiative. The tapas-style journey offers diners the opportunity to explore the special menus and tastings that pair with Estrella Damm’s bold lager.

First launched in Miami by Marjanne Kalf, Miami market manager for Estrella Damm and teammates in 2014, it has become a much-anticipated dining event here in Miami as well as similar month-long extravaganzas in Toronto and Chile.

Enjoy some of your favorite restaurants or perhaps visit a new one. Chefs have created tasting menus and pairing menus that accentuate the delicious Barcelona beer.

Estrella Damm pairs well with food from around the world and this culinary experience is here to prove it. You can try it at Café La Trova with a well-curated tasting menu that includes an ice-cold Estrella Damm, mushroom risotto croquetas, arroz con pollo, and Michy’s bread pudding.

We were fortunate to be invited to the “kick off” in the garden at Leku at the Rubell Museum. Icy cold Estrella Damm paired perfectly with the passed appetizers which included Iberico ham croquetas, beet tartare crisps, lobster salad and caviar in mini “cones.

A huge paella pan was center stage in which chefs prepared the smoky wild mushroom rice.

Leku’s Experience is an 11-course tasting menu for lunch or dinner which balances perfectly with the smooth bitterness and toasted grain flavor of Estrella Damm, the beer of Barcelona. Highly recommend if you can score a coveted reservation!

Another tasting menu that pairs well with the crisp bite of a cold Estrella Damm is La Mar’s 5-course Chef’s tasting menu which is rich with seafood, spices, and sauces.

If you are looking for a pairing rather than a tasting menu, Estrella Damm Culinary Journey has many choices to offer. A pairing menu includes a main dish created by the chef with carefully-selected ingredients that complement and highlight the distinctive flavors in Estrella Damm.

You can try Chef Peter Vauthy’s, Estrella-braised C.A.B. Short Rib with Creamy orzo, baby spinach, sun roasted Italian tomatoes at RED South Beach.

Or opt for a casual night out in the outdoor garden at Argentinean steak house, Fiorito, who pairs their signature Picahna steak with Estrella.

In the mood for seafood? Doya in Wynwood offers a Fisherman's Stew for two which pairs extremely well with the refreshing bite of a cold Estrella Damm.

Or if you are looking for both you can try the surf and turf dish at La Palomina in Coral Gables. The de mar y tierra includes a rack of lamb marinated in a savory merlot sauce, accompanied by a Mediterranean salmon fillet coated in a sweet creole sauce, served with a side of grilled vegetables and is a perfect pairing with an ice-cold Estrella Damm.
