Andrew Gonzalez, Miami’s Cookieprenuer and founder of Night Owl cookies will be competing on Chopped Sweets this Monday at 11 PM where Scott Conant challenges Andrew to create a delicious cookie with mystery ingredients. The "CHOPPED COOKIE" will then be available for purchase next weekend.

Chopped Sweets is a new show airing on Food Network, and in Monday’s episode, featuring Gonzalez, he is challenged by celeb chef, Scott Conant, to create an imaginative twist on popular cookies giving him and other chefs mystery ingredients to create an ingenious sweet.

Andrew Gonzalez started Night Owl Cookies, in 2012. At the time it was known for being a late-night cookie service that delivered till 2 AM, but it has now evolved into Miami’s most popular cookie shop, Postmates #1 selling dessert on the app, and expanded its deliveries nationwide. The cookie shop currently has two locations, by FIU and in The Design District, with a commissary opening this month to service orders locally and nationwide.

Night Owl Cookies will also have 2 more locations in Florida by the Summer of 2020 with plans to expand and launch in other states.

The Design District location is a popular day or night stop with hours from Sunday- Thursday 11 am-2 am, and Friday- Saturday until 3 am.

The pink and turquoise painted shop features Lucite tables and counters filled with colorful sprinkles and the aroma of fresh-baked cookies hits you the minute you walk through the doors. Each cookie is on display, and feature Night Owls signature dough. Favorites include Birthday Cake with rainbow sprinkles and frosting drizzle, Ave Maria, stuffed with guava and cream cheese, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, topped with cereal, Sugar Daddy, topped with sugar crystals, And Dirty Diana, stuffed with Nutella. Be patient as each cookie is customized to order in the back and served warm. Even if you are picking up to go, don’t resist the temptation to at least try one while there and they are still warm.

“When Chopped Sweets reached out to me, I was excited to take on a new adventure and fun challenge, but let’s be real, we’ve all seen Chopped, I was still nervous to see what was in the mystery baskets” said Andrew Gonzalez. “ I am a self-taught baker that created a concept based on my passion for sweets, and what better way to let my imagination run wild than with some literal “out of the box” ingredients”

Gonzalez, said “YES” to the Chopped Sweets challenge and to find out what’s in it tune into Food Network on Monday, March 2nd at 11 pm.
