Estrella Damm in Miami: A Dinner at Cena by Michy
Estrella Damm, the oldest brewery in Spain founded in 1875, transports “Spain to Miami” this summer by coordinating three-course meals that feature octopus-driven menus paired with their Barcelona-brewed pilsner at twenty-five participating local restaurants.
“We selected pulpo because it is representative of Mediterranean cuisine and because we think it is an intriguing ingredient Miami foodies will love and who better to prepare these dishes than Miami’s most inventive chefs,” said Floris van Neerrijnen, Estrella Damm Brand Manager.
The menus are available Saturday, June 20, through Sunday, July 5, and range in price from $30-$52.
MIAbites had an opportunity to visit Michelle Bernstein’s new restaurant Cena by Michy for a sneak peak of its Estrella Damm menu.
For $39 per person, we were treated to an appetizer of stracciatella salad with stracciatella custard, heirloom tomatoes, basil, and fried green tomatoes; a dish that alone was worth a special visit, an entrée of fettuccini, braised beef cheeks, and red wine stewed octopus, and a delicious dessert of a crispy apple pie with stewed apples, cider caramel sauce, and vanilla, and of course, a glass of Estrella Damm.
Cena, in case you have missed all the buzz, is Chef Michelle’s newly transformed Michy’s on 69th and Biscayne in MiMo. The new look is casual and fun and is a perfect addition to the neighborhood, an emerging area and food destination re-joining neighbors like Blue Collar, The Vagabond and LOBA.
