AMAVI Miami: Where Dinner Becomes the Night Out
Bold Mediterranean flavors meet Miami nightlife in Midtown’s sleek new hotspot, AMAVI Miami.
For those who crave both a destination dinner and a night out under one roof, AMAVI Miami makes it clear you don’t have to choose. Born in New York, AMAVI has found a natural second home in Midtown Miami, bringing with it bold coastal flavors and a nightlife sensibility that feels distinctly Miami. Leading the kitchen is Chef Tolga Mutlu, trained in fine-dining kitchens and inspired by the Aegean Coast and Greek markets, succeeding opening chef Alp Karataslioglu, who helped launch the Miami location before returning to helm the original in New York. There’s a certain magic when a restaurant manages to be both an elegant dinner spot and a scene worth staying for long after the plates have cleared, and AMAVI thrives in that balance.
The space is designed to impress: 4,000 square feet of sleek indoor–outdoor flow, anchored by a dramatic 33-foot bar and a glowing elevated central runway that becomes a natural stage once DJs and live performers take over. Arrive early and the room feels refined, all soft light and the hum of conversation. Stay late and you’ll find yourself swept up in something far more electric.
Of course, the experience begins with a drink. AMAVI’s cocktail selection feels as intentional as its menu, leaning into Mediterranean flavors with playful, modern twists.
The Prosecco Confidential is a sparkling, refreshing cocktail made with Brugal 1888 rum that sets the perfect tone for golden hour. While the smoky Dolce Vento, a mezcal-pineapple creation, signals the night is just getting started.
The food more than holds its ground against the glamorous backdrop. Starters are vibrant and shareable. We wanted to order the entire starter section, but restraint (and the promise of dessert) won. Our picks: Whipped Roasted Eggplant with bell peppers, pine nuts, and warm pita was velvety and bright.
Crudo of the Day, featuring locally caught red snapper which was delicate, fresh, and beautifully presented.
Kofta Skewers with tzatziki and charred tomatoes were juicy and fragrant with spice.
Caesar Salad with Parmigiano Reggiano, Cantabrian anchovies, and focaccia croutons, a Mediterranean-kissed take on a classic.
For entrées, we opted to split one pasta and one land dish. Mafaldine Pasta with slow-cooked rib ragu and wild mushrooms was hearty, layered, and soul-warming.
Grilled Lamb Chops with celery purée, roasted carrots, and lamb jus was as refined as it was robust. It’s no wonder it is one of their signature dishes. The dish was perfect.
A neighboring table’s Grilled Whole Branzino prepared tableside with Mediterranean herb caught our attention and turned more than a few heads. We can’t wait to come back and try it ourselves.
And dessert is non-negotiable. The berry-topped cheesecake, served with melted Dubai chocolate for drizzling (or if you prefer, straight from the spoon) is as indulgent as it sounds. A finale that leaves you both satisfied and slightly undone.
As the night deepens, the dining room transforms. Lights soften, music swells, and what began as a polished dinner evolves into something closer to a scene. One minute you’re savoring lamb and a glass of red and the next you’re caught in the current of Miami nightlife without ever leaving your table.
That’s the beauty of AMAVI. It’s more than a meal, it’s an evening, an atmosphere, an experience that lingers. Equal parts culinary destination and after-dark escape, it delivers Mediterranean cooking with just the right amount of Miami glamour.
