LAST CHANCE: Our final Miami Spice picks for October

As we wind down to the final two weeks of the “extended” Miami Spice program fueled by the GMCVB, here are a couple standouts if you can grab a reservation:

Rao’s at The Loews Hotel

In NYC, getting a table a Rao’s is legendary and basically impossible. The tables are held by long time regulars and family members. A coveted reservation has even become “auction items”, with winner being able to just make a reservation. So, scoring a table in this elegant and cozy restaurant in the historic St Mortiz Hotel adjacent to the Loews is something to be appreciated.

And their Miami Spice menu is not to be missed, as many of the signature dishes like the Meatballs, Chicken or Eggplant parm and Burrata with roasted peppers are among the options.  Don’t miss the dessert options of Tiramesu and Cheesecake with fresh berries.

Don’t delay for at $65 this is a fun, satisfying and can be even a romantic night out!

Stubborn Seed

Top Chef, Jeremy Ford, has taken the Miami Spice “assignment” very seriously, creating a delicious and beautiful menu that showcases his and his team’s talents. And to add a unique twist he has added an option to select two of the appetizers for an additional $20 and two of the entrees for an additional $30.

The Ford’s Farm Tomato and Stracciatella salad was fresh, and both the Koji Marinated Lamb and the Stubborn Truffle Chicken were winners. Again, dessert is a nice finishing touch with a citrus Pavlova and a Quesillo.

Stubborn Seed offers the kind of dinner that is both elevated, intimate and casual in a welcoming setting in view of the hard-working chef team.  This is a chance to enjoy a well-earned Michelin star meal at an affordable price.
