SAVE OUR RESTAURANTS: Food Rescue US-Miami Community Kitchen Program

CommunityKitchenFlyerCollage.jpg

In this ongoing crisis, MIAbites has partnered with Food Rescue US, to bring chef-prepared meals to our furloughed friends in hospitality, as we all negotiate the “New Normal”.

To date, over 32,000 meals have been served to furloughed, laid off, unemployed, health care workers and food insecure at a variety of local restaurants, where the Food Rescue model includes funding the staff, food and other expenses.

Red Rooster Overtown- March 27- June 13- Over 9000 meals

Tiller and Hatch -April 20, 21 ,23rd- 20,000 meals

Alter- May 5- 16- 0ver 1200 meals

Chef Creole Miami Gardens- 5/15-6/6- 1500 meals.

Yarumba- 6/10-6/20- 800 meals

Still to come:

Cafe La Trova- 6/24 - 500 meals

Shuckin & Jivin- 900 meals- 6/21-7/1

Naomis- TBD

These have all been no-contact, curbside load in with Food Rescue US volunteers delivering the meals to the trunks of recipient’s cars.

We recognize the stress and uncertainty still surrounding everyone and hope providing a top chef-prepared meal will at least allow for one evening of not worrying about what to have for dinner.
