Miami Spice Preview: Kaori (Brickell)

Kaori is a Modern pan-Asian restaurant in Brickell that offers a Miami Spice 3 course dinner menu all seven days of the week. The vibe is upscale with a very impressive dining experience, both for the delicious menu offerings and excellent service.

Kaori’s Miami Spice dinner menu for $60 is available from Monday through Saturday (6pm to 10pm from Monday to Wednesday and 6pm to 1am from Thursday to Saturday). Almost all its Miami Spice choices are straight off their delicious menu offered year-round. For $40, you can also take advantage of Kaori’s Miami Spice wine pairing option to accompany your meal.

For our appetizers, we chose the Grilled Mushroom and Shiro Ponzu Crudo. Both were spectacular. The Grilled Mushroom’s with spiced carrot puree was well seasoned and offered a flavorful balance to the mushrooms and pickled tomatoes.

The Shiro Ponzu Crudo featured raw local rockfish with a sweet raspberry gel and ponzu broth, which was a light, summery appetizer for the Miami summer weather. With these appetizers, we enjoyed a glass of 2022 Miramar Estate Chardonnay from the Russian River Valley. I’m not normally a big fan of Chardonnay, but this was refreshing and smooth. I would order it again.

Next up were our entrees: we enjoyed the Seared Local Fish and Char Siu. The Seared Local Fish is not to be missed. It comes with a smoked fish bone dashi congee that steals the show. I could have an entire bowl of that alone!

The Char Siu was a tender Niman Ranch Iberian pork chop, which went well with the wine pairing: a 2022 Morgan Domaine de la Beche red wine (Gamay grapes).

Finally, you can’t go wrong with Kaori’s dessert options for Miami Spice. While my favorite was the Mango Amazake Sorbet with Florida mango and fermented passion fruit,

the Strawberry Sando is a crowd pleaser with its nostalgic ice cream sandwich presentation. Both options paired well with the Domaine de la Denante Cremant de Bourgogne sparkling wine.

Trying Kaori’s Miami Spice menu was a delicious way to kick off this exciting time of year for the Miami restaurant scene. I really enjoyed everything we ordered and look forward to going back. If you are looking for a unique and flavorful option for Miami Spice, you can’t go wrong with Kaori.
