Saturday Sweets: Museum of Ice Cream

The Museum of Ice Cream opened its fourth location on Miami Beach. The coveted timed tickets cost $38 and are available only online with many dates/times sold out. As ice cream lovers, some of the MIAbites team made our way to check it out. Saturday Sweets: Cream Parlor in MiMo

The MiMo community has been up-and-coming over the last few years bringing us the spots like Cake Thai, Pinch Kitchen, and the Vagabond Motel - but as I’ve preached every Saturday there’s always room for dessert to be mixed in. Johnny and Ainsley Tsokos have made our sweet dreams in MiMo come true with their happy little shop - Cream Parlor.

One step into Cream Parlor and you feel an instant sense of comfort and home. The entire place is decorated in childhood knick knacks, grandma’s china, and even a writing desk from Johnny’s school days. Johnny and Ainsley knew for over a decade that they wanted a place of their own after working in a restaurant owned by Johnny’s family for years. Ainsley was out for a run one day when she stumbled upon the vacant space. She was there at just the right time to get a tour of the space and instantly fell in love once she saw the back patio. She ran home and drew everything out. It came to her immediately - the name, menu, layout. It was their dream come true. It’s an extension of their home that we’re all welcome to visit.

Saturday Sweets: McDonald’s Debuts New Premium Desserts

The following Saturday Sweets is a paid sponsored post

McDonald’s has always been a great constant when it comes to the simple, quick, and classic vanilla soft serve ice cream cone. As a kid I always loved when my grandma’s sweet tooth kicked in while we were running errands, because I knew that meant we were making a stop at McDonald’s for an ice cream cone. Fast forward nearly 3 decades of ice cream memories and it’s still just as satisfying as it was when I was a kid. Desserts have been a favorite at McDonald’s for almost 60 years. Last summer alone, McDonald’s customers enjoyed 68 million vanilla soft serve cones across the country.
